Writers' Choice

I picked up a brown leather wallet, the front side sewn together with rectangular patches of deep turquoise, royal purple, and zigzagged triangles, almost abstract, a girls’ wallet most definitely. As I open the wallet the first thing I see, oddly, is a pretzel stamp on a yellow paper card sticking out of one of those card slots. I assume she likes food; as she also has a gift card to a China Bistro. A borders rewards card, she must like reading but I find no clues to what kind of books she reads. A well swiped, but new looking at the same time, movie rewards card, a wonderful time waster I think. One debit card from BECU, probably doesn’t have much money to invest in, only has twenty-six dollars cash. Many receipts, coffee and small ATM withdrawals, hmm maybe she just doesn’t like to carry cash. Oh, here we go one ATM receipt has the exact balance of her account. She goes to Everett Community College and Caitlin is what she goes by here on her ID card. I don’t see any license though. A CPR and first aid certification card, at least we have some people who know what they are doing! Looks like this girl Caitlin has her own car, I found a car key, and a large key at that, I assume an older car. Ah yes, an insurance identification card, she drives a ’95 Geo Prizm poor kid. A food worker permit, either she just likes to be prepared or possibly has a job in the food business or maybe child care since she does has those CPR and First aid cards and band-aids. She seems prepared.

I lost my wallet today, I hope the person who finds it will be kind enough to return it assuming they find my license tucked behind my college id card. Based on how little I have in my wallet people would be unable to know I have an Australian Shepherd named Joey who I love unconditionally, at the same time though, I am not so much for pets. Since I do not have any photos of family or friends, you would not be able to tell that I have a large family, as I am a child of four, my grandpa has five siblings and all of them had more than one child except one of my aunts had none. No one would be able to tell that I love traveling and plan on becoming a traveling nurse, from looking at my wallet. Although I have those food cards in my wallet nobody would know I am a person who will try almost any kind of food at least once, and I believe that is something my friends and family would miss because if I don’t like something I make these funny faces and sometimes if the food is that gross I WILL spit it into my napkin. I also think that I am a pretty funny person and I would say that is my favorite characteristic about myself and I love to make everyone around me laugh.
